Sheraton Manila Bay Overview

You know what caught me off guard about Sheraton Manila Bay? Walking into that lobby, I actually felt like I was somewhere important – and I mean that in the best way possible. The place has this understated elegance that doesn’t scream “look at me” like some hotels do, but you immediately sense you’re in a proper five-star property. The marble floors gleam without being slippery (trust me, I tested this in my travel-weary state), and there’s this perfect balance of Filipino warmth mixed with international polish that honestly made check-in feel effortless.

The location on M. Adriatico is pretty brilliant, actually. You’re right in Malate, which means you’re walking distance to some seriously good local eats – I’m talking about the kind of places where you’ll find yourself three nights in a row because the sisig is just that good. But here’s the thing most people don’t realize: you’re also close enough to Rizal Park and the old Manila charm without being stuck in the complete chaos of the main tourist areas. The bay views from the higher floors are legitimately spectacular, especially around sunset when the light hits the water just right and you can see all the way across Manila Bay. I spent way too much time on my room‘s balcony just watching the city wake up each morning.

What really impressed me was how they handle the practical stuff that makes or breaks a stay. The wifi actually works throughout the building (revolutionary concept, right?), the elevators are fast enough that you’re not standing there forever, and the housekeeping team somehow manages to clean rooms without that overwhelming chemical smell some places have. The pool area is surprisingly peaceful considering you’re in the middle of one of Asia’s busiest cities – there’s something about the way it’s positioned that blocks out most of the street noise. I mean, you’ll still hear Manila being Manila, but it becomes more of a gentle urban hum than the usual honking symphony. The restaurant serves decent international food, though honestly, with all the incredible local spots within a ten-minute walk, I’d recommend venturing out for at least half your meals. The staff seemed genuinely happy to give recommendations too, not just the usual tourist trap suggestions.

  • very good hotel – Soria from Singapore – April 23, 2025 (9/10)

cleanliness and politeness of the staff

    What could be improved: price

  • Okay. – Maciej from Poland – April 13, 2025 (9/10)

All good. Very friendly and helpful hotel staff. Nice pool, good size of room.
One minus: crazy expensive breakfast price.

  • Very Good – Jonathan from Canada – December 28, 2024 (8/10)

    Very helpful staff.

What could be improved: The surrounding area is shockingly seedy.

  • all your staff are very helpful, most specially the concierge – Fleurdelis from United States – September 16, 2024 (9/10)

breakfast was fine. i like location because catholic church was walking distance.

What could be improved: not your problem, but roads close to hotel were under construction so too much traffic

  • Nothing beats a classic! – Henry from Australia – April 10, 2024 (9/10)

It’s got the classic hotel feel.

What could be improved: Nothing we can think of.

  • Wonderful – Dean from Philippines – April 7, 2024 (9/10)

Nice the pool and gym. Daughter had a sleepover for her birthday.

What could be improved: Shower head could be better.

  • Quality and comfortable. – Stephen from Australia – February 7, 2024 (9/10)

A high quality facility that was enjoyable.

What could be improved: The staff were friendly and helpful, but I felt like there were a lot of new staff who struggled a little. They got there in the end, but nervous and clearly unsure in the job. Not a huge deal and they got there in the end 😉

  • Very Good – William from Denmark – January 25, 2024 (8/10)

    Staff

What could be improved: Every things is good

  • Good – Natasha from United Kingdom – January 18, 2024 (7/10)

Nice pool area, restaurant serves good dinner and breakfast buffet. Lots of choice. Staff are amazingly friendly.

What could be improved: We were located on the 20th (which wasn’t a problem) but all night we could hear music from a nearby club. If we could hear it 20 floors up, I can’t imagine what the noise would be like for the lower floors. The floor throughout the hotel is also very expensive. The dinner buffet is over 1500 peso per person, which is very expensive compared to the surrounding islands (we’ve paid 1500-1700 pesos for dinner for two people for the last 3 weeks).

  • Enjoyable and comfortable – Heather from Philippines – January 2, 2024 (9/10)

Very clean and well-kept. Good location. Near restaurants, a mall and walking distance to Manila Bay.

What could be improved: No valet service when we arrived.
